County Court Judgments – Understanding CCJs

County Court Judgements (CCJs) – Do you have a CCJ on your credit file?

Do you know what a County Court Judgement is and how it affects you?

Understanding County Court Judgments (CCJs) is easier than you think!

CCJ or County Court Judgment is reported against you if a creditor has not received money which is owed. This is issued if the court is in agreeance with the creditor, which will then follow with a letter confirming the CCJ and repayment methods. Such as:

Settle the amount in full

Request to pay later or instalments

Dispute the claim or amount owed (if you think the creditor’s claim is incorrect)

Claim against the creditor (if you think the creditor owes you money, e.g., for breaching a contract)

How long does a County Court Judgments (CCJ) show on my credit report?

A CCJ will stay on your credit report for six years, even after you have paid off the amount. This can cause difficulties when trying to obtain credit.

At Glenside Finance we understand that people with CCJs may still need to borrow to purchase a vehicle which is affordable for them.
