Following our blog in February 2022 about the cost of living in the UK rising, what we feared has happened. The UK public is already facing various difficulties when it comes to finances with no end in sight.
We don’t have much of summer left before we have to start using more hot water and gas again. Due to the rise in costs in the UK, we are expecting winter 2022 to be much more expensive than last.
We can only estimate and predict how this winter may affect everyone, therefore we would like to urge our customers to use this summer time for preparations. The cost increases to come need to be taken into account even if you have not been impacted yet.
Within our previous blog we included some guidance and tips on how to understand your bills and how to free up or increase income, some examples are:
- Plan your budget and reassess regularly.
- Monitor/ track your spendings.
- Prioritise high priority debts.
- Contact companies under non-essential or lower priority debts categories to notify of any financial difficulties.
- Cut back on social/leisure spends.
- Adjust food spends.
- Shop around for deals to reduce expenditure/bills.
- Check if you are entitled to any benefits.
